Calverley Timberworks

Quiet Joinery and Honest Restoration

Calverley Timberworks was founded to counter the trend of discarding solid furniture for disposable flat-pack items. Too many sound timber tables were being coated in plastic spray paints or thrown away due to easily repairable joint issues.

We restore furniture using authentic methods developed by traditional Yorkshire cabinetmakers. We clean failing joinery by hand, re-bond frames with period-correct hide glue, and feed the wood using cold-pressed linseed oils and natural beeswax.

Our Leeds workshop provides direct, transparent service without sales intermediaries. You receive clear written estimates, face-to-face craftsmanship, and payment terms settled only when the work is returned to your home.

Our bench inspection standard

We test every repaired frame under structural load and review every waxed surface under direct natural daylight. Each piece is blanket-wrapped by hand before being transported back to your home.

We examine the timber joint failure first and supply one clear price before any work begins.

You have 30 days to live with the piece and verify joint stability under normal household conditions.
