How We Carry Out Work
-
1
Stripping and Preparation
We clean the timber and remove old wax without harsh dips that damage glue lines.
-
2
Pore Filling
The open wood grain is filled with pumice and shellac to build a flat ground.
-
3
Bodying Up
Dozens of micro layers of shellac are laid down in gentle circular sweeps.
-
4
Dulling Down
The high shine is settled to an authentic satin sheen using fine wax.
Our Workmanship Standard
We stand behind every joint we reglue and every surface we finish. If a repaired joint fails or a finish lifts under normal home use within twelve months, we collect the piece and correct the problem without charge. We do not ask for payment until the work is finished and sitting in your home. Pricing & payment

Notes From Furniture Owners
Our Georgian dining table had loose legs and heavy ring marks. Julian dismantled the loose mortise joints and revived the walnut grain with linseed oil. It sits firmly on the floor now.
Marcus B., Leeds, GBThe workshop returned my grandfather's oak armchair wrapped in heavy protective quilts. The wobble in the armrest is completely gone, and the beeswax polish smells fresh.
Helen T., Leeds, GBClear written quote provided at my flat. The repairs to the cracked mahogany desk top were neatly executed without masking the natural patina of the wood.
